SPD looking for man considered armed, dangerous

SHERWOOD, Ark. (KTHV) – The Sherwood Police Department is looking for a person considered armed and dangerous.

A spokesperson for the department's Criminal Investigation Division is on the lookout for 21-year-old Jonathan R. Foster over outstanding warrants charging him with one count each of aggravated residential burglary and aggravated robbery, battery in the first degree, and aggravated assault.

80s Rock and Row with THV11 at 2015 Dragon Boat Festival


MAUMELLE, Ark. (KTHV) - Teams from all over the state gather at Lake Willastein Saturday for the 2015 Dragon Boat Festival.

Various companies and organizations raced against each other in dragon boats. Team THV11 joined in on the fun and rowed in two heats at the dragon boat race. This year's theme for THV11 was 80s Rock and Row.

All of the money raised at the event will go to the Children's Protection Center in Little Rock.

MAUMELLE, Ark. (KTHV) -Team THV will participate in the River Cities Dragon Boat Festival Saturday, May 16.

It's a chance for various companies and organizations to race against each othe in dragon boats. Each team is asked to come up with a theme. THV11 will be sporting the 80s Rock and Row for Saturday's race. So, be prepared to see the staff in crazy colors and scrunchies.

All the money raised at the event will go to the Children's Protection Center in Little Rock

UCA extends in-state tuition to service members, families

UCA extends in-state tuition to service members, families

CONWAY, Ark. (UCA) - The University of Central Arkansas Board of Trustees approved a resolution to allow in-state tuition to some military servicemen, veterans and their families. The resolution was approved during the board’s meeting today.

 

Starting with the 2015-2016 academic year, military students who fall into the following categories will receive in-state tuition:

·      A veteran who was discharged or released from active duty within three years before the date of enrollment

·      The dependent of such a veteran

·      A member of the armed forces

·      The spouse of or a member of the armed forces

CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) - A Conway non-profit organization, Renewal Ranch, is hosting a 'Rally for Recovery' event inviting the community to stand against what addiction can do to our society and families. 

On Friday, May 22 crowds of people will join together at the Conway Expo Center to join the fight against addiction and drug and alcohol abuse.

Rehabilitation facility Renewal Ranch is a faith based organization for adult men 21 years of age or older and is located at 75 Lake Drive in Houston, Ark. The organization includes 15 different pastors and teachers from all over central Arkansas who teach these men about the damage of addiction.

Tickets are being sold for $20 at the North Branch of First Security Bank and the Central Baptist Church in Conway. Patron tables, which include six tickets, are for sale at $250.  There will be catfish and other foods being served.

Local junior golfers compete for national competition

Local junior golfers compete for national competition

CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) - The Conway Country Club plans to host a tournament for local junior golfer at the beginning of June. 

The Arkansas District of Optimist International is inviting all local junior golfer to compete in the Arkansas Junior Optimist Qualifying Golf Tournament Saturday, June 6. Girls and boys ages 10 through 18 are eligible to compete. 

Winners of the competition can qualify to compete in the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships at the PGA National Resort and Spa Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. in late July.
