MAUMELLE, Ark. - Sonic Drive-In of Maumelle and Maumelle High School PTSO have joined efforts for the "Thirsty Fridays" events.

On the second Friday of each month, beginning on September 11 and through the end of the 2015-2016 school year, a member of the PTSO Executive Committee will pick up and deliver Sonic soft drinks to 15 administrators, office and counseling staff.

The soft drinks, donated by Sonic, are part of the Parent Teacher Student Organization’s ongoing efforts to recognize and extend appreciation to the school’s staff.  Jeff Herring, the organization’s Public Relations Chairman, and father of two MHS students said, “The PTSO is thrilled to be working with our local Sonic to provide drinks to the administration and other staff at the high school. We appreciate them and all they do for our children, day in and day out. And, special thanks to Sonic for donating the drinks!”

Greta Gloston is also excited to be a part of Thirsty Fridays.  As both a parent of a MHS student and Operating Partner at Sonic, Gloston said, “Our school staff works so hard and is hardly recognized. We are proud to promote a culture of recognition and community service at Sonic and the opportunity to highlight the appreciation for this staff is an honor. We look forward to building this relationship and continuing to grow our support of all Maumelle Schools."

Sonic also supports the Maumelle athletic booster clubs, cheer, and many other functions. They provide drinks, food, discounts, free coupons, ice, paper goods and free smiles daily. Gloston most recently spoke to a group of PTSO members about their Limeades for Learning Program that enables teachers to receive funding for various projects throughout the school year.
