After autopsy, police close double murder-suicide case involving UALR professor

MAUMELLE, Ark. (KTHV) -- Preliminary autopsy reports have confirmed that a UALR professor committed suicide in a double murder-suicide incident in Maumelle.

According Capt. Jim Hansard with Maumelle police, preliminary findings from the Arkansas State Crime Lab revealed that James Wilbanks committed suicide. Police are not looking for any suspects in the case.

SHERWOOD, Ark. (KTHV) - Sherwood police told THV11 Thursday, that they are now allowing people to complete online sale transactions at their station's property. 

On the Sherwood Police Department Facebook page, there is a post showing concern for the citizens safety and to take caution when doing an online sale.

According to a Facebook post made by Maumelle police, the idea was suggested by a follower of their page.

Maumelle man arrested for child indecency

MAUMELLE, Ark. (KTHV) - A Maumelle resident was arrested Wednesday for allegedly being involved with child pornography.

According to officials, Seth Ganahl, 42, will appear in court Friday afternoon facing charges of indecency involving a child.

Ganahl was also arrested regarding similar accusations last August. He is currently facing two violations of second degree sexual assault, which are Class B felonies, and two violations involving sexual indecency with a child, which are considered as Class D felonies.

Estranged wife of Arron Lewis arrested in connection with realtor's death

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – A second person has been arrested in the death of a central Arkansas real-estate agent.

According Lt. Carl Minden with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office, Crystal Hope Lowery, 41, of Jacksonville, has been arrested in connection to Beverly Carter's death, and charged with capital murder and kidnapping. She was taken into custody at her home Thursday.

"We've had suspicions all along," Minden said. "This is something that through the investigative process they were able to wrap up today."

According to court documents, she is the estranged wife of 33-year-old Arron Michael Lewis—the man originally arrested and charged with murder in this case in late September. She apparently filed for divorce on Oct. 17 on the ground of general indignities and has been separated from him since August 27.

Security taken seriously this year at Arkansas State Fair


LITTLE ROCK, Ark.(KTHV)- The Arkansas State Fair kicks off Friday and organizers say there will be plenty of security to ensure the safety of visitors.

Around half a million people are expected to pack the fairgrounds in Little Rock over its two-week run and Lt. Carl Minden with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office says security is a top priority.

"We'll be out in ATVs, golf carts. We'll have the mounted patrol, our horses out."

Lt. Minden with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office said his department along with Little Rock Police, State Police and 43 private security guards will be spread throughout the fair grounds and its perimeter.
