Come out to celebrate your family harvest on the Arkansas Delta

UNDATED (PAM) - Are you and your family anxious for some fall fun?  The Plantation Agriculture Museum invites you to bring out your family and celebrate with us the annual gathering of crops and home life from the Arkansas Delta at our Fall Harvest Home Festival!  Bringing in the harvest was a central part of home life that every family shared in early Arkansas.  The Plantation Agriculture Museum will be hosting the Fall Harvest Home Festival on Saturday, October 4th, from 10-3 pm.

Local farmers and vendors from around AR will be on hand to sell their goods and produce.  The Arkansas Fall festivities will include a pie contest, a pumpkin decorating contest, apple bobbing, 3-legged racing, a petting zoo, and other seasonal, old time games and activities.  Free blood pressure checkups will also be available through the Arkansas Baptist Hospital.  Bring your family and join us for some good old fashioned fun!  The event is free, although a small fee may apply for some individual crafts, vending, food, and activities.  Please contact the museum for more information.

The Plantation Agriculture Museum is just 20 minutes from Little Rock at the junction of U.S. Hwy. 165 and Arkansas Hwy. 161.  Take a right on exit 7 off  I-440, turn right on U.S. Hwy. 165, go 5 miles to Museum and turn right on Arkansas Hwy. 161 in Scott, Arkansas.  The Museum is open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.  Admission to the museum exhibits is free for self-guided tours and $4.00 for adults and $3.00 for children for guided tours.  For more information, please contact Lydia Leatherwood at (501) 961-1409 or plantationagrimuseum@arkansas.com.
