MAUMELLE, Ark. (KTHV) -A Maumelle man was stabbed while stopped at a stop sign on Monday.

Maumelle police were dispatched to the Maumelle Fire Department station 2 on Monday around 1:27 p.m. to investigate a reported stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with a man who had a stab wound on his abdomen. The man alleged that he had been sitting in his vehicle stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Millwood and Audubon Drive when an adult white male subject walked up to his vehicle and slashed his stomach.

Officers searched the immediate area but were not able to find a suspect. The victim was transported to the hospital by MEMS, and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Maumelle police believe that this is not a random attack. Based on the victim's statements, it is believed that this attack was regarding an amount of money that the victim owed.
