Joey helps raise money for LR Animal Village play room

Joey helps raise money for LR Animal Village play room

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – The Little Rock Animal Village is raising money to build its new Cat Room, and THV's Joey the Garden Cat is on its fundraising team.

The new addition, to be called "Joey's Play Room," would give the cats at the Animal Village a place to get exercise and play, which they can't do very well in the cages they are typically confined to. The main goal of the Joey's Play Room is to give the felines a more active life and make them healthier, but it will also do more than that. With the cats playing at free will, potential new owners can see how they interact with others and how much energy they have. This would be a great way to help people determine which cat would best fit in their family and at their home.

Autumn needs a forever home

Autumn needs a forever home

Autumn, a 9 month-old Jack Russell/Beagle mix would love a home of her own before the new year. As you can see, she's a happy, playful girl and she loves people and other dogs. She had a great time in the dog park yesterday. She's VERY active and would do best in a home without valuable heirlooms! She has the typical Jack Russell energy which includes jumping in the air and using your legs as a spring board. Come by the shelter and meet this sweet girl!

We open every day from 11-5, and you can find us at 14600 Colonel Glenn Road in Little Rock

Local dog trainers to host free "Yappy Hour" for problem dog behavior, Q&A

Local dog trainers to host free "Yappy Hour" for problem dog behavior, Q&A

SHERWOOD, Ark (YH) - Although we love our four-legged family members, sometimes their behavior can be a menace. From digging up the backyard to nonstop barking to jumping and soiling our favorite clothes, unwanted dog behavior is all-too-common.

Unfortunately, there aren't many resources for the average dog owner to use to stop this behavior. So See Spot Sit Dog Training of Central Arkansas is hosting a free "Yappy Hour" to discuss solutions to the many common dog behavior problems like barking, digging, jumping, escaping and other bad behavior.

The seminar will also include a question and answer session for specific questions you may have about your dog's behavior.

Yappy Hour will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. at Sherwood Forest at 1111 W Maryland Ave., Sherwood, AR 72120. Attendees do NOT have to be Sherwood residents to attend.

Free refreshments will also be provided.
