Joey the Garden Cat: A TV Sensation

Doris James is a freelance writer and former broadcaster from Arkansas, and a big fan of Joey the Garden Cat. You can follow her online as MizBejabbers.

During an evening newscast at a local television station, a slender gray striped cat hops upon the news desk. Anchor Liz Massey smiles and says, “Oh, here’s Joey.” The cat sits on the desk and gives the camera a green-eyed stare as Liz and fellow-anchor Craig O’Neil carry on with the newscast. The privileged feline is Joey the Garden cat who is a staff member of KTHV, the CBS affiliate in Little Rock, Arkansas. Joey has become a big TV celebrity in Arkansas and his fame is spreading nationally.

Furry Friends: Dude

Furry Friends: Dude

From the Pulaski County Humane Society:

This is Dude, a ine-year-old hound mix who has been at the shelter since last June.  He's very friendly and loves people and other dogs.  He's very smart, and we know he will be very easy to house train.  He's walked several times a day at the shelter and knows what he's supposed to do!

For information on how to adopt Dude, visit warmhearts.org or call (501) 227-6166.

  3. Are you prepared?  As I mentioned, a pet is a long-term responsibility.  In addition to love, a commitment of both time and finances is required.  Are you ready for potty training?  Monthly puppy/kitten vaccin
