While there, the students competed with 3,600 others from across the nation in the STAR Events (Students Taking Action with Recognition), which are competitive events that build proficiency and achievement in leadership and job-related skills. These outstanding PCSSD students brought home four gold medals and one silver medal!

Gold medal – National Programs in Action event - Maggie Culp, seventh grade and Haiden Fender, eighth grade

Silver medal – Chapter Service Project - Alexis Crutchfield and Lizzie Musick, eighth grade

Kristin Herring, FCCLA advisor at Maumelle Middle School, proudly stated, “These Maumelle students put in endless hours working on their projects beginning last September and continued throughout the school year. The group did an outstanding job of creating community projects, developed leadership skills through their project development and then competed successfully on all levels.”

Congratulations to these distinguished students!
