Two Maumelle High baseball players sign to play in College
Maumelle High School is excited to have two elite baseball players sign their national letter of intent this morning as family, friends, teammates and faculty looked on.  Ryan McCullough, OF/RHP, signed to play college baseball at Labette Community College located in Parsons, Kan. McCullough has been a three-year starter at MHS, where he plays mostly in the outfield and bats in the middle of the lineup. Labette’s Head Baseball Coach Aaron Keal stated, “Ryan impresses me with his pitching ability.” McCullough will get a chance to pitch and play outfield as a Labette Cardinal.  Abe Young, P/INF, signed his letter of intent to play next year at Neosho Community College located in Chanute, Kan.  Abe moved to Maumelle High this year from Tyler, Texas.

Angels name manager for Arkansas Travelers

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Los Angeles Angels have announced that longtime minor league manager and coach Phillip Wellman will manage the 2014 Arkansas Travelers.

The Travelers play in the Texas League and are the AA affiliate of the Angels.

Wellman played four years in the minor leagues before becoming a coach in the Atlanta Braves organization. He has 15 years experience as a minor league manager.

The remainder of the Travelers staff will be hitting coach Tom Tornincasa, pitching coach Pat Rice, athletic trainer Greg Spence and strength and conditioning coach Joe Griffin.

Jostle, bounce, and laugh your way across the fields and through the woods on a guided hayride with a warm campfire, stories, hot chocolate and marshmallows. Go!bbler Turkey Trot set for Thanksgiving Day

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Arkansas Foobank) - Go! Running of Little Rock is back hosting its annual Go!bbler Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day, benefitting the Arkansas Foodbank. The Turkey Trot has grown into the undisputed way to begin Thanksgiving Day for thousands of runners across the nation.

The run will begin at 8:00 am on November 28th at the Go! Running store located in The Heights on 1819 N Grant St.  There will be group run options of 3 miles, 4 miles, and 6.5 miles that cover many aspects of running such as road, track, trails, and other “surprises” that are essentially a tour of Hillcrest and The Heights.  It’s a group run with no entry fee, no chips, and no timing, but a whole lot of fun. The run begins next to Go! Running and finishes back at the store.
