NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Argenta Arts Acoustic Music Series will present Tim Sparks this Thursday, April 16, at The Joint in Argenta. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $20.

Arkansas flu deaths increase as season continues

MAUMELLE, Ark. (KTHV) – As of Thursday, 14 flu deaths have been reported in the state of Arkansas.

According to Cathy Flanagin with the Health Department, six of the deaths were people over the age of 65, four were between 45 and 54, and the other were between 25 and 44. Flanagin said this year's strain is affecting children and older people more.

A band of storms already popping in Oklahoma this morning along an approaching cold front. Ahead of that front, warm and muggy conditions with increasing clouds.

Cold front arrives by later afternoon in NW Arkansas with a pretty decent chance of rain and storms. Timing in central Arkansas will be later tonight, and cool air arriving Friday. This weekend will be the second weekend of Autumn and it will certainly feel like it.

Thursday: high 87, mostly cloudy. pm t-storms

Friday: high 75, mostly sunny.

Temporary Housing Assistance for Tornado Victims

The Arkansas Development Finance Authority (ADFA) will authorize approval for the Owners of Low Income Housing Tax Credit, (The Owner) rental units in Arkansas to provide temporary emergency housing for low income families.  The approval allows Owners to immediately move-in low income families without providing all the necessary documentation required under section 42 of the Internal Revenue Code.  

The approval will only assist low income families that were displaced from their principal place of residence as a result of the major tornado disaster in Faulkner County and the newly expanded Presidentially-declared disaster counties that include Pulaski, White and Randolph.

Arkansas Realtors gathers list of vacant rental properties for storm victims

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Arkansas Realtors has gathered a list of vacant rental properties for storm victims.

The list has homes from all over the central Arkansas area. This list is intended serve as a resource for the displaced storm victims to search for a new home while they rebuild their lives. This website will be constantly updated as more lists of rental properties available are received.

Arkansas Realtors is also asking any Arkansans that own vacant rental properties in the affected and surrounding areas to send their property information to rentalinfo@arkansasrealtors.com so they can continue to post available properties for storm victims.
